| 1. Does your PC have a NIC (Network Interface Card) also known as an ethernet card/port? |
2. Is one of our base stations visible from your property?
If not, not all is lost, but this will require extensive testing on our part prior to the install. |
3. Can we run an ethernet cable to your computer from the subscriber module?
We may need to drill a few small holes in your floor/wall/roof
so we can run the cable from the subscriber module mounted outside. |
4. Does your PC have a fully functional operating system and do you have the CDs in case they are needed for installation?
We prefer Windows XP or 2000, Mac or Linux. Windows 98/ME is not supported by Microsoft. |
5. Do you have a personal firewall and anti-virus software installed on your machine
and is it configured to pass all necessary network traffic?
Examples of types of traffic are email, web page and file transfer. |
