Q: How does Wireless, Etc.'s service work?
A: We have several tower sites installed in strategic locations, which broadcast our high-speed signal and provide coverage throughout Hot Springs and surrounding areas. Our tower sites communicate with the Internet through multiple high-speed connections. We install a low-profile antenna on the outside of your home or business, which connects to a Router inside your location. The Router uses a wireless signal to connect to your computer or network.Routers are prefered on our system. WLETC does not provide these but can be purchased at any local electronics store.
A: No. A primary or additional phone line is not needed for our service. Part of wireless internet is eliminating the need for phone lines altogether. Our connection is delivered wirelessly via radio waves - freeing up your phone for other uses.
A: Our wireless technology requires NEAR line-of-site to one of our tower locations. We currently have 13 tower sites and you can view a map of our coverage area here. The best way to confirm your eligibility is to call us at 501-318-1300 or click here to sign up today.
A: We will make our best attempt to get service to you. If for some reason we can not get a signal to your home or business, you will not incur any cost at all.
A: Depends. Most local weather phenomenon (rain, snow, fog etc.) is not significant enough to interfere with the radio frequencies used by our network. Depending on the type of radio system we use to get a reliable enough service could be affected by some weather phenomenon due to excessive tree and terrain that can not be seen by the installer at the time of install . We do our very best to ensure a reliable connection at the time of install.
A: Yes. Our service is compatible with VPNs, however we recommend at least a 256kbps connection.
A: Yes. As long as the device has an Ethernet port, it can be connected to our high-speed service so you can enjoy game play over the Internet. If you have more than one device (i.e. 2 PCs or a PC and a game console) connected to our high-speed connection you will need a router to provide a internal network.
A: Yes, WLETC cannot support intensive streaming video usage on its network. The service will work if the customer is conservative with other devices in their home. The basic package is not recommended for doing such activity.We now have newer platforms of service deployed on a couple of tower sites that allow for very high demands like video,gaming and entertainment services.
A: Although we do not ban servers on our network outright, we do not allow constant upload traffic (which could happen if you are serving lots of data) whether it be from a web server, peer-to-peer software or any other kind of server. Please see our Internet Service Agreement and Acceptable Use Policy.
A: No. Your high-speed connection is "unlimited" in how much data you can transfer per month. However, we do not allow continuous uploading associated with web hosting and file sharing.This can be taylored for business accounts to accomodate the excess need for upload.
A: Yes. Our system is compatible with VoIP. We recommend at least a 1 Mbps connection; however, we make no guarantee for VoIP performance on our network. Our newest service will allow for voip services to perform better because of the QOS that has been configured throughout the entire network.
A: Yes. You will need to change the settings in AOL to use a LAN connection over TCP/IP. Please contact AOL or Earthlink if you do not know how to do this.
A: Only for Business Accounts only. There are 100's of email providers on the internet that offer lots more for Free. We do not have a support service for a local email service.
A: While both services are wireless, our network is local to Hot Springs. Our radio signals typically travel less than 10 miles to our towers, while satellite system signals have to travel through the atmosphere, from 180 miles to 22,300 miles to the satellite and then back to earth. That's why satellite system users commonly experience latency or delays when connecting to the web. Varying weather conditions will also interfere with the satellite signal in the same way that TV satellite signals can be interrupted. All of our tower sites have very large connections to supply enough bandwidth to accomodate each customer with room to grow. We keep a close eye on bandwidth demands for these sites so that we or you will not experience a bottleneck on our network. This will be the last place to look for slow service.
A: No. While we do offer speeds as fast, or faster than DSL (Digital Subscriber Line), our wireless service is an alternative to DSL. The main difference is that we do not incur cost to use a telecommunications carrier for "last mile" connectivity. Instead of using outdated copper phone lines, we deliver our connection wirelessly via radio waves. A large number of homes and businesses in Hot Springs are not yet eligible for DSL. If you are within our coverage area, Wireless, Etc. can typically install your service within 1 to 3 business days. Note:We do not gaurantee that service can be installed at your location because of such limitations with trees and natural terrain.

A: We require payment for installation and first month service at the time of installation. We accept Check, Visa or Master Card.
A: We bill monthly to a credit or debit card account for residential service. The charge usually goes through within the first few days of the month for that month. For example, on July 1st your account will be charged for July service.
A: We accept payment for monthly service by check or cash in response to monthly billing statements.
A: We can either 1) invoice your business or 2) charge the monthly service to a credit or debit card account. We send invoices out at the beginning of the month for that month's service. Our payment terms are Net 10. For example, we will send you an invoice at the beginning of July for July's service. The payment for that invoice is due 10 days after receipt. If you choose to pay by credit or debit card the charge usually goes through within the first few days of the month for that month. For example, on July 1st your account will be charged for July service.
-Settings & Troubleshooting
A: There are many points of concern when a service becomes slow starting with the computer, router and other connections within the home. Please see our support page for steps to take if your connection seems slow.
A:We no longer support localized email services
A: This will have to be reolved through support channels provided by your email service provider.
